Our Chapel was opened in 1868 and is a listed building.  The present premises replaced a chapel which was built in 1796 on a site not far from the present one. That building served as both worship centre and as the local school until Featherbank School was opened.  Although Methodism was not brought to Horsforth by John Wesley he did preach in the village and in the old Bell Chapel which stood on the Green.

Our Sunday services are held at:

9.00   Holy Communion (first Sunday of the month)
10.30 Morning Worship and J Team
(Family & Parade Service first Sunday of the month)
6.00 Evening Worship (alternate with Central Methodist Church)

Holy Communion is celebrated at both morning and evening services as announced.

The Grove congregation has Christians of many traditions and all are welcome to take a full part in all services.

Weekday services:

Thursdays 12.30 lunchtime service, followed by tea/coffee/soup.  Communion once a month.

Music at the Grove

There has always been a strong music tradition at the Grove.  Our organ, Rushworth and Dreaper (1934) with 1700 pipes, is one of the best in the District.  Our Choir not only leads worship but also performs extended works.  We are eager to see our tradition develop and are keen to welcome singers and musicians.

Music Director 259 1580

The church has a prayer chain which ensures that there is daily prayer for those in need. There are also prayer cells.
